In addition to those in the classic top five, they call proprioception, vestibular sensations, and interoception. Understanding the full range of senses can help a person become healthier, happier and more effective professionally.

Proprioception

“Studies show that people who are better at what is called ‘heart interoception’ experience stronger emotions, discern their nuances and better recognize the emotions of others, which is an important step toward empathy,” the psychologists said.
