5 signals from your body that tells that you’re not eating right

There’s a saying: “We are what we eat”. And this is true. Although if you eat the wrong foods for a few weeks, it’s unlikely to have a serious effect on your health. It can take months or even years. Although, in most cases, a year of improper nutrition is enough to start bad changes in our body.

Of course, a lot depends on the compensatory abilities of your body and, of course, on your genetics. Some people are affected by unhealthy foods, some are not. Some people start to get fat after eating cakes at night everyday, while others do not.

So it’s all relative. But if you are curious about what your body signals that you are not eating right, we recommend you read this article.

Hair loss

That’s not a good sign. Of course, many people go bald because they’re genetically predisposed, but it’s also very common for hair loss to be a sign that your diet lacks iron. You may encounter the problem of hair loss when your diet is very low in meat products. And meat is known to be one of the best sources of iron for humans.

By the way, many vegans face baldness. People who have completely abandoned meat and other sources of animal protein expose their bodies to a dangerous iron deficiency. In addition to iron deficiency, they develop vitamin B12 deficiency. Over time, this can end in anemia.

Bowel problems

Difficulty emptying your bowels can signal that your diet is low in fiber and fluid.

To eliminate the lack of fluid in the body, try to drink water more often and not to be thirsty. If you have had a cup of coffee, drink a glass of clean water half an hour later to compensate for the diuretic effect of caffeine.

To eliminate fiber deficiency, make sure you have either vegetables or fruit at every meal. Whole-grain cereals are also high in fiber. I really like oatmeal, which takes at least 10 minutes to cook. Yes, it takes a long time, especially in the morning when I have to run to work. But my body gets a weighty amount of dietary fiber.

Bad breath

Many people have bad breath in the morning (especially smokers). This problem is solved by elementary brushing your teeth and rinsing.

A bad signal is when this bad breath does not go away. You feel a bad taste on your tongue throughout the day and have to chew gum all the time. This signal is highly likely to indicate a metabolic problems.

The unpleasant odor is quite common in people who are on ketogenic diets. These people have a large deficit of carbohydrates in their diets. Because of this, a large amount of ketones are formed. Therefore, if your acquaintance smells like acetone, he is most likely trying to reduce the amount of subcutaneous fat. It is worth noting that this should be done wisely. Therefore, you should not sit on too rigid no-carbohydrate diets.

Constant fatigue

There are many reasons for this condition. But if you monitor your mental and physical activity, if you get enough sleep, but fatigue does not go away, it may be due to the fact that your diet has too many simple carbohydrates: candy, cakes, cookies, carbonated water etc.

Consumption of these products initially raises blood glucose levels quite quickly, but then these levels fall just as quickly. The brain reacts to such dietary manipulations by developing fatigue and depression. If you do not want to exist “on flat tires” then do not overdo it with treats.

Сonstant feeling that you are freezing

It’s not pleasant. Especially when you tell your husband or wife to make the radiators warmer, and he/she answers you: “Yeah, it’s already hot enough”.

I’ve had to experience this unpleasant body signal myself. The solution to the problem turned out to be simple – changing the diet. Most of the time we get cold if we are on a low-calorie diet with a large calorie deficit. Our body begins to adjust to the lack of calories by reducing the production of thyroid hormones.

In particular, our blood levels of triiodothyronine decrease. The level of this hormone decreases especially noticeably with a lack of carbohydrates. If you have started to freeze, increase the amount of complex carbohydrates in your diet at least for a few days.

Constant feeling of hunger

This signal can be an indication of two things:

  • Insufficient calories in your diet;
  • Or the possibility of helminths (parasitic worms) in your body.

In the first case, the problem is solved by increasing portions. In the second case, you need to see a doctor and get tested for eggworms. And in order to prevent helminths from getting into the stomach, never eat raw meat and fish and consume 1/3 of garlic before bedtime.

One last tip: Choose your products wisely. Always check the expiration dates on the packaging. And if you buy dietary supplements and medicines, be sure to read the contraindications, and better yet, consult a specialist!
