This story happened quite a long time ago, but it stirred up the whole world.

Romania, 2005, a 66-year-old lady named Adriana Iliescu gives birth to her first child and becomes the oldest mother in the world and enters the Guinness Book of Records! (but this title did not last long, a year later it was overtaken by a Spaniard who gave birth to twins when she was almost 67).

Why did this woman make the decision to have a child so late? Adriana was married only once, and that marriage lasted only four years. Adriana divorced when she was 24, and then she lived out of wedlock for more than 50 years. She admits that she always wanted children, but she had no worthy partners, and she had to work hard and build a career to support herself.

But the dream of becoming a mother remained. When Adriana was 55, she was determined to realize her dream. Especially since technology has been developing, and in the 2000s in Romania there is an opportunity to do IVF. Adriana took advantage of this service and gave birth to her first child, a daughter Elisa.

The hype surrounding this event subsided a little over time, and Adriana continued to raise her daughter. She lived in an ordinary apartment in Bucharest, Adriana’s pension was only 250 euros, which is not much money. They may have had some earnings, thanks to their media exposure, but they were certainly not cosmic.
